Fan - Cushion - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the window.
  2. Connect a laptop to the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and then use Toolbox 3 to locally connect to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  3. Select the Dashboards tab and search for "Infotainment".
  4. In the Infotainment dashboard, select the Vehicle Configuration tab and read the configuration for "seat_vent".

    Note
    If fans are Futuris, they must be replaced in pairs by Kongsberg fans. For backrest fan replacement, see Fan - Backrest - Driver Seat (Remove & Replace).

    If fans are Kongsberg, they can be replaced individually.
  5. Move the LH front seat backward and raise the seat to the highest position.
  6. Disconnect the LH front seat cushion fan connector and the harness clip.
  7. Release the clips (x2) and tabs (x2) that attach the LH front seat cushion fan to the seat cushion fan assembly.

    Note
    Pry at the front of the seat cushion fan and pull downward to release the seat cushion fan.

Installation

  1. Insert the LH front seat cushion fan retaining tabs (x2) into the seat cushion fan assembly.

  2. Install the clips (x2) that attach the LH front seat cushion fan.

    Press the seat cushion fan upwards to the seat cushion fan assembly.
  3. Connect the LH front seat cushion fan connector, and install the harness clip.
  4. If the backrest fan is Futuris, it must be replaced by a Kongsberg fan. See Fan - Backrest - Driver Seat (Remove & Replace).
  5. Update the "seat_vent" configuration parameter value as required. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change).
    Configuration parameter values:
    • 0: NONE (seats not ventilated, not applicable for this procedure)
    • 1: FUTURIS (both front seats Futuris)
    • 2: L_FUTURIS_R_KONGSBERG (LH seat Futuris, RH seat Kongsberg)
    • 3: L_KONGSBERG_R_FUTURIS (LH seat Kongsberg, RH seat Futuris)
    • 4: KONGSBERG (both front seats Kongsberg)
  6. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
