Actuator - Pedestrian Protection - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 20300102

  • 2024-04-25: Changed correction code from 20203102 to 20300102 and updated Toolbox routines to be run.

Removal

  1. Remove the rear center underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Center - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the HEPA filter. See Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  6. Remove the LH and RH wiper arms. See Wiper Arm - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  8. Disconnect the LH pedestrian protection actuator electrical connector.

    Note
    Pull the locking tab outward to release the electrical connector.
  9. Release the fir tree clip that attaches the LH pedestrian protection actuator connector to the body.
  10. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH pedestrian protection actuator to the body.

Installation

  1. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH pedestrian protection actuator to the body (torque 8 Nm).
  2. Secure the fir tree clip that attaches the LH pedestrian protection connector to the body.
  3. Connect the LH pedestrian protection actuator connector.
  4. Install the cowl screen panel. See Panel - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH and RH wiper arms. See Wiper Arm - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Reconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  7. Install the HEPA filter. See Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the rear center underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Center - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Calibrate the rear doors using the touchscreen.
  12. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  13. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "RCM" into the search field, select PROC_RCM_X_SERVICE-TASKS, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    This routine is only available if the vehicle runs firmware version 2024.8 or later.
  14. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle.
  15. Exit Service Mode.
