Control Arm - Upper - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Removal
- Remove the HEPA filter housing. See Housing - Filter (Remove and Replace).
- Release the tabs (x4) that secure the frunk fuse box, and move the fuse box upwards then forwards.
- Remove the bolts (x3) that secure the underhood fuse box bracket to the body (torque 7 Nm).
- Gently move the underhood fuse box to the right to provide access.
- Remove the front LH wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the nut that secures the ride height sensor lever to the upper control arm (torque 7 Nm).

Working through the wheel well,
move powertrain coolant pump 2 to gain access to the rear bolt that secures the
upper control arm to the body.

Release the rubber grommets that secure the front wheel speed sensor harness to
the body and the knuckle.

Remove and discard the bolt and nut that secure the upper control arm ball joint
to the knuckle (torque 60 Nm).
- Release the upper control arm from the knuckle.

Remove the bolts (x2) that secure
the upper control arm to the body (torque 68 Nm).
- Release the upper control arm and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Clean the affected areas before
installation.
Note
When tightening a nut and bolt
assembly, hold the bolt while torquing the nut.
- Install the front upper control arm, and then hand tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the front upper control arm to the vehicle.

Install the ride height tool between the front upper control arm and the
vehicle.
- Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the front upper control arm to the vehicle (torque 68 Nm).
- Remove the ride height tool from the vehicle.
- Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
