Air Line - Air Suspension - Valve Block Exhaust (Remove and Replace)

Special tools required for this procedure:

Removal

  1. Remove the rear center apron and inspect the vehicle for a Schrader fill valve on the RH shock tower. See Underhood Apron - Center - Rear (Remove and Replace).
    • If the vehicle does not have a Schrader fill valve, install it now. See Fill Valve - Air (Retrofit). Then continue to the next step.
    • If the vehicle has a Schrader fill valve, continue to the next step.
  2. Raise the vehicle, and depressurize the air suspension reservoir. See Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System .
  3. Remove the front RH wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  4. Release the fitting for the air suspension boost line (small diameter black) from the valve block (torque 2 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Plug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
  5. Release the nuts that secure the air suspension compressor bracket to the body (torque 5 Nm).
  6. Release the compressor bracket from the body.
  7. Use a crowfoot extension to release the fitting for the boost line (small diameter black) from the compressor (torque 2 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Plug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
  8. For each released end of an air suspension line, use a flat blade screwdriver to snap off the old collet, and discard the collet and nut (VOSS fitting).

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  1. For each released end of an air suspension line, install and hand-tighten a new collet and nut (VOSS fitting).

    Note
    A plastic plug holds the fitting together before and during installation.
  2. Remove the plastic plug from each new fitting.
  3. Tighten the new fitting (torque 2 Nm).
  4. Insert the air suspension line fully into the fitting, and then lightly pull on the line to make sure that it is secure.
  5. Make sure that all air suspension lines are securely reconnected before continuing.
  6. Refill the air suspension system with Nitrogen. See Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System .

    Note
    If the valve block exhaust air suspension line was replaced because of a leak, perform the additional steps to purge the accumulated moisture from the dryer.
