Removal
-
Remove the rear center apron and inspect the vehicle for a Schrader fill valve on the RH shock tower. See
Underhood Apron - Center - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- If the vehicle does not have a Schrader fill valve, install it now. See Fill Valve - Air (Retrofit). Then continue to the next step.
- If the vehicle has a Schrader fill valve, continue to the next step.
- Raise the vehicle, and depressurize the air suspension reservoir. See Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System .
- Remove the front RH wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace) .
-
Release the fitting for the air suspension boost line (small diameter black) from the valve block (torque 2 Nm).
CAUTIONPlug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
-
Release the nuts that secure the air suspension compressor bracket to the body (torque 5 Nm).
- Release the compressor bracket from the body.
-
Use a crowfoot extension to release the fitting for the boost line (small diameter black) from the compressor (torque 2 Nm).
CAUTIONPlug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
-
For each released end of an air suspension line, use a flat blade screwdriver to snap off the old collet, and discard the collet and nut (VOSS fitting).
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
-
For each released end of an air suspension line, install and hand-tighten a new collet and nut (VOSS fitting).
NoteA plastic plug holds the fitting together before and during installation.
- Remove the plastic plug from each new fitting.
- Tighten the new fitting (torque 2 Nm).
- Insert the air suspension line fully into the fitting, and then lightly pull on the line to make sure that it is secure.
- Make sure that all air suspension lines are securely reconnected before continuing.
-
Refill the air suspension system with Nitrogen. See
Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System
.
NoteIf the valve block exhaust air suspension line was replaced because of a leak, perform the additional steps to purge the accumulated moisture from the dryer.
