CAUTION
Before installing the drive unit, make sure that the correct output seal is installed to the LH side of the drive unit. An incorrect output seal fitted to the drive unit will cause oil leakage!
  • A new or remanufactured drive unit comes with an output seal with part number 1065932-00-A, which fits the old LH half shaft with part number 1027111-00-D.
  • If a new LH halfshaft is installed (part number 1553109-00-B), make sure to replace the LH output seal: install the output seal with part number 1108557-00-A. See Seal - Axle - Front Drive Unit - LH (1st Generation) (Remove and Replace) but use Output Seal Install Tool 1131206-00-A to install the output seal.
  1. Install the new front drive unit. See Drive Unit - Front (1st Generation) (Remove and Install).
  2. For China, Japan and Korea only: Carefully remove the old motor label from the hood, and install a new motor label to match the new motor information.
  3. Update the vehicle firmware. See Firmware Update.
  4. Fill the drive unit with gearbox fluid. See Gearbox Fluid - Front Drive Unit (1st Generation) (Drain and Refill).
