Removal
-
Remove the rear center apron and inspect the vehicle for a Schrader fill valve on the RH shock tower. See
Underhood Apron - Center - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- If the vehicle does not have a Schrader fill valve, install it now. See Fill Valve - Air (Retrofit). Then continue to the next step.
- If the vehicle has a Schrader fill valve, continue to the next step.
- Raise the vehicle, and depressurize the air suspension system. See Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System .
- Remove the front RH wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace) .
-
Disconnect the electrical
connectors from the air suspension compressor and air suspension valve
block.
-
Release the wire retaining clip from the bracket.
-
Release the front (blue and
yellow) and rear (green and brown) air spring module lines from the air suspension
valve block (torque 2 Nm).
CAUTIONPlug the line connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
-
Release the reservoir line
(larger diameter black) from the air suspension valve block (torque 3.5 Nm).
CAUTIONPlug the line connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
-
Release the nuts that secure the compressor bracket to the body (torque 5 Nm).
- Release the compressor bracket from the body.
-
Release the compressor line
(purple) from the air suspension valve block (torque 3.5 Nm).
-
Release the boost line (smaller
diameter black) from the air suspension valve block (torque 2 Nm).
-
For each released end of an air suspension line, use a flat blade screwdriver to snap off the old collet, and discard the collet and nut (VOSS fitting).
-
Release the fasteners that secure the bracket to the compressor (torque 5 Nm).
-
Release the fasteners that secure
the air suspension valve block to the bracket (torque 5 Nm).
- Remove the air suspension valve block from the compressor bracket.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
-
For each released end of an air suspension line, install and hand-tighten a new collet and nut (VOSS fitting).
NoteA plastic plug holds the fitting together before and during installation.
- Remove the plastic plug from each new fitting.
-
Tighten each new fitting:
- 4mm diameter fittings: Torque 2 Nm
- 6mm diameter fittings: Torque 3.5 Nm
- Insert the appropriate air suspension line fully into each fitting, and then lightly pull on each line to make sure that it is secure.
- Make sure that all air suspension lines are securely reconnected before continuing.
-
Refill the air suspension system with Nitrogen. See
Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System
.
NoteIf the air suspension valve block was replaced because of a leak, perform the additional steps to purge the accumulated moisture from the dryer.
