Sensor - HVAC - Light/Temperature/Humidity (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure applies to vehicles equipped with 2nd generation Autopilot hardware only. For vehicles without Autopilot hardware or with 1st generation Autopilot hardware, refer to procedure 10200502 (refer to procedure) or procedure 10200602 (refer to procedure) respectively.

Removal

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Touch Controls > Service > Camera Calibration on the touchscreen and select Clear Calibration to clear camera calibration.
  3. Remove the rear view mirror. See .
  4. Remove the rear view mirror upper cover (x4 clips).
  5. Release the screws(x4) that secure the mirror bracket carrier to the glare shield and move the bracket aside (torque 0.8 Nm).
  6. Remove the glare shield (torque 0.8 Nm).
  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the HVAC light/temperature/humidity sensor.
  8. Use a pick tool with a 90 degree tip to release the cap and spring from the sensor.
  9. Remove the screws (x2) that secure the sensor to the triple camera bracket (torque 0.12 Nm).
  10. Remove the sensor from the vehicle.

Installation

  1. Use IPA wipes to clean the area where the HVAC sensor ribbon sits and wait 1 minute to let it dry.
  2. Install the HVAC sensor to the vehicle.
  3. Install the screws (x2) that secure the sensor to the triple camera bracket (torque 0.12 Nm).
  4. Install the cap and spring to the sensor.
  5. Connect the electrical connector to the HVAC light/temperature/humidity sensor.
  6. Install the glare shield (torque 0.8 Nm).
  7. Install the screws(x4) that secure the mirror bracket carrier to the glare shield (torque 0.8 Nm).
  8. Install the rear view mirror upper cover (x4 clips).
  9. Install the rear view mirror. See .
  10. Connect the vehicle to WiFi connection.
  11. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  12. Reinstall partial software. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.
  13. Exit Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  14. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
