Battery Coolant Pump 1 (1st Generation) (Remove and Replace)

This procedure is for vehicles built through April 24, 2019. For vehicles built after April 24, 2019, see Battery Coolant Pump 1 (2nd Generation) (Remove and Replace).

Removal

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power .
  2. Remove the front subframe skid bar. See Skid Bar - Front Subframe (Remove and Replace)
  3. Disconnect the low voltage electrical connector from the coolant pump.
  4. Slide the pump off the bracket.
  5. Clamp both coolant hoses.

    Note
    Place absorbent material or an appropriate receptacle underneath the pump to catch any coolant that is spilled in the next step.
  6. Release the hoses from the pump.
  7. Remove the pump from the vehicle.
