HV Harness - Front Drive Unit (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Remove the 12 V battery cage. See Cage - Battery - Auxiliary - 12V (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the coolant fluid level sensor
  3. Remove bolts to release coolant bottle

  4. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to the side if both locks are not engaged
  5. Remove the front skidplate. See Skidplate - Front (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disconnect the front drive unit connector

  7. Remove the fir tree clip from the DU enclosure

  8. Disconnect the front drive unit oil pump connector

  9. Remove the fir tree clip from the oil chiller

  10. Lower vehicle to comfortable working height

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  11. Remove the fir tree clips located next to the A/C compressor

  12. Remove the fir tree clips located on the top of the drive unit

  13. Inspect and put on HV gloves and leather over gloves.

    Make sure that the HV insulating gloves are not expired. Refer to TN-15-92-003 for glove regional expiration information.
  14. Disconnect the front drive unit connector

  15. Remove the fir tree clip next to the drive unit connector

  16. Remove edge clip securing FDU logic harness to connector bracket

  17. Disconnect FDU logic connector and set harness aside

  18. Remove bolts securing FDU harness bracket

    2x bolts, EP10, 5 Nm + 20 degrees
  19. Remove the FDU harness from the vehicle

Install

  1. Position the FDU harness to vehicle for installation
  2. Install the FDU harness bracket

  3. Connect FDU logic connector

    1x electrical connector, engage red locking tab
  4. Install edge clip securing FDU logic harness to connector bracket

  5. Connect the front drive unit connector

  6. Install the fir tree clip

  7. Install the harness fir tree clips located on the top of the drive unit

  8. Install the harness fir tree clip located next to the A/C compressor

  15. Lower vehicle to comfortable working height

  16. Install coolant reservoir

  17. Connect coolant reservoir level sensor

  18. Install the 12 V battery cage. See Cage - Battery - Auxiliary - 12V (Remove and Replace).
  19. Remove vehicle from lift

    Lower rack arms fully and move them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode", Via Controls > Service > Jack Mode
  20. Calibrate falcon doors via UI

    Via Controls > Calibrate, Required after 12V and FRL disconnect
  21. Raise LH front window
  22. Close LH front door
