Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace)
Correction Code 13040102
Warning
Make sure 12V power
has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting the electrical
harness from Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) components, such as modules,
sensors, airbags, etc. Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system
behaviors. For more information on SRS precautions, see Air Bag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions.
- 2024-08-12: Removed step for running PROC_BCREAR_X_SEAT-INSTALL-MODE-OFFSearch for routine in ToolboxSeat Install Mode Off (Monopost Seats).
- 2023-12-04: Added step to test the seat ventilation functionality before changing configuration.
Removal
-
Remove the 1st row LH seat
assembly (refer to procedure).
CAUTIONIf discarding the entire seat, Service Centers must remove the seat-mounted airbag and pre-tensioner (if present) before discarding the seat. Follow local Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) best practices to dispose of the airbag and pre-tensioner (for example, place the airbag and pre-tensioner into the appropriate hazardous waste receptacles located in the Service Center). Refer to Remove the Front Seat Airbag and Discard for instructions, and use Correction Code 20010707 to document the labor; the labor time for destructively removing and disposing of the front seat airbag (and pre-tensioner, if equipped) is not reflected in the front seat removal and replacement labor time.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
CAUTION
Replace all patchbolt(s).
- Restore the seating profile.
- Reinstall the vehicle firmware. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.
-
Test the ventilation/heating functionality on the new seat.
NoteAll new seats with seat ventilation are equipped with Kongsberg fans.
- If the
ventilation/heating does not function properly, the configuration
parameter must be updated for Kongsberg. Continue to the next
step.NoteImproper functionality may include a "1" setting causing high ventilation and a "3" setting causing low ventilation (opposite results).
- If the ventilation/heating is functioning properly, the configuration parameter is already set for Kongsberg. Skip to step 7.
- If the
ventilation/heating does not function properly, the configuration
parameter must be updated for Kongsberg. Continue to the next
step.
- Connect a laptop to the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and then use Toolbox 3 to locally connect to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- Unlock the vehicle gateway for diagnostic communication. See Gateway Unlock.
-
Update the "seat_vent"
configuration parameter value as required. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change).
Configuration parameter values:
- 0: NONE (seats not ventilated, not applicable for this procedure)
- 1: FUTURIS (both front seats Futuris)
- 2: L_FUTURIS_R_KONGSBERG (LH seat Futuris, RH seat Kongsberg)
- 3: L_KONGSBERG_R_FUTURIS (LH seat Kongsberg, RH seat Futuris)
- 4: KONGSBERG (both front seats Kongsberg)
-
Using Toolbox 3:
- Select the Actions tab and search for "Calibrate Memory Seat".
-
Select the ODIN routine PROC_MSMD_VCSEATD-FRONT-DRV_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEATSearch for routine in ToolboxCalibrates the Driver Seat on Legacy SXLow Voltage ➜ Seats ➜ Calibrate Driver Seat, and then click the link of the routine.NoteThe below ODIN routine should be used for calibration of the driver seat. For calibrating the pasenger seat, use PROC_MSMP_VCSEATP-FRONT-PAS_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEATSearch for routine in ToolboxCalibrates the Passenger Seat on Legacy SXLow Voltage ➜ Seats ➜ Calibrate Passenger Seat instead.
- Click RUN, and allow the routine to complete.
