Striker - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the rear trunk trim sill panel (refer to procedure).
  2. Use tape to mark the position of both corners of the striker. Use a marker to note the position of the bolts.
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the striker to the body (torque 10 Nm).
  4. Remove the striker from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  1. Position the striker so that it aligns with the tape. Install the striker bolts loosely.
  2. Open and close the liftgate several times to optimize the striker position, then open the liftgate and fully tighten the striker bolts.
  3. Remove the tape.
