Negative Cable - 12V Power (Remove and Replace)
Correction Code 17012502
Warning
If the 12V power
supply is disconnected, do not attempt to open any doors with door glass in
closed position. Failure to follow this instruction could result in door glass
shatter.
Note
Before
disconnecting the 12V power supply, ensure that the driver’s door window is
fully open. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle
lockout.
Removal
- Remove the under storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the HEPA filter. See Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the cowl screen drain hose. See Hose - Drain - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
- Remove the nut that connects the electromechanical brake booster to the ground (torque 2.5 Nm).
- Remove the bolt that attaches the 12V power ground cable to the body (torque 15 Nm).

Release the edge clip and the
barrel clip from the battery cage.
- Remove the HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter (Remove and Replace).
- Use a clip prytool to release the clips (x2) that attach the negative cable to the vehicle.
Installation
- Route the negative cable in place.
- Install the clips (x2) that attach the negative cable to the vehicle.
- Install the HEPA filter duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter (Remove and Replace).

Install the edge clip and the
barrel clip to the battery cage.
- Install the bolt that attaches the 12V power ground cable to the body (torque 15 Nm).
- Install the nut that connects the electromechanical brake booster to the ground (torque 2.5 Nm).
- Connect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
- Install the cowl screen drain hose. See Hose - Drain - Cowl Screen (Remove and Replace).
- Install the HEPA filter. See Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
- Install the under storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
