Cooling Fan Module (Remove and Install)
Correction Code 18201301
Removal
- Recover refrigerant from the vehicle, see A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect 12V power, see Disconnect 12V Power.
- Remove the active louver Active Louver - Center (Remove and Replace).

Clamp the coolant hoses on
each side of the radiator.
NotePlace suitable absorbent material around the affected area to absorb any possible fluid spillage.
- Release the locking rings that secure the coolant hoses to the radiator. Release the hoses from the nipples.

Place a cap over both the radiator inlet and outlet.
CAUTIONPlug the line connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.

Remove the upper nut (torque 10 Nm) and lower nut (torque 20 Nm) that
secure the high/low pressure pipes.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the cooling
fan.

Release the clip that secures the cooling fan harness to the horizontal
plastic support beam.

Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the cooling fan module assembly to the
horizontal plastic support beam (torque 12 Nm).
- Gently pull the cooling fan module assembly towards the front of the vehicle and then lift it straight up to remove it from the vehicle.
- Put the cooling fan module assembly on a clean, flat surface.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
- Insert the lower isolators on the bottom of the fan shroud into the lower isolator bracket holes on the front end module to ensure that the cooling fan module is aligned correctly.
- Install the nuts (x2) that
secure the A/C lines before installing the bolts (x2) that secure the
cooling fan module assembly to the horizontal support beam.NoteInstall new O-rings before installing the nuts.
- Perform a coolant purge. See Cooling System - Partial Refill and Bleed.
- Recharge the A/C system with refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
- Calibrate the falcon doors from the touchscreen.
