Fuse Box - Underhood (Remove and Replace)

  • 2024-02-15: Added reference to rework of fuse box, if needed.

Remove

  1. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
  2. Disconnect the pyrotechnic fuse harness.
  3. Remove the fuse box cover.
  4. Release the nut that secures the harness to the 250 A fuse (torque 15 Nm).
  5. Release the nut that secures the harness to the 80 A fuse (torque 6 Nm).
  6. Release the nut that secures the 12V battery positive cable to the fuse box (torque 15 Nm).
  7. Release the nut that secures the harness to the 125 A fuse (torque 6 Nm).
  8. Release the nut that secures the harness to the 125 A fuse (torque 6 Nm).
  9. Release the 4 clips at the rear of the fuse box that secure it to the bracket.
  10. Gently rotate the fuse box to gain access to the underside.
  11. On each side of the fuse box, rotate the clip inboard to release the harness.
  12. Rotate the clip on the center harness toward the RH side of the vehicle to release it from the fuse box.
  13. Remove the fuse box from the vehicle.

Note
Certain versions of fuse box part number 1034405 or 1094405 have the middle connector (X002) at the underside of the fuse box reversed/mirrored compared to the original fuse box middle connector (see image). If this is the case, the replacement fusebox must be reworked. See Fuse Box - Underhood (Rework) for additional instructions and separately add Correction Code 17012407 to the Service Visit.
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
