Brake Lines - Master Cylinder to ABS (RHD) (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 33034202

Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the vehicle (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the wiper motor assembly (refer to procedure).
  3. Release the clips that secure the wiring harness to the wiper mount bracket and crossmember.
  4. Remove the bolts that secure the wiper mount bracket to the crossmember (torque 20 Nm).
  5. Remove the nuts that secure the wiper mount bracket to the studs on the bulkhead (torque 20 Nm).
  6. Remove the fasteners that secure the air suspension reservoir (torque 6 Nm), and then move the air suspension reservoir to the side for access to the master cylinder.
  7. Remove all fluid from the brake fluid reservoir.

    Note
    Place suitable absorbent material around the affected area to absorb any possible fluid spillage.
  8. Release the fittings that secure the hydraulic lines to the master cylinder (torque 18 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Plug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.

    If brake fluid is spilled on a painted surface, wash off immediately with clean water.
  9. Remove the nut that secures the low pressure pipe to the compressor (torque 10 Nm).

    Note
    Place suitable absorbent material around the affected area to absorb any possible fluid spillage.
  10. Use a trim tool to release the clips that secure the hose to the top of the condenser fan.
  11. Release the fittings that secure the hydraulic lines to the ABS module (torque 23 Nm).

  12. Remove the brake lines from the vehicle.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Bleed the brakes (refer to procedure).
