E-Fuse Module (Remove and Replace)

Special tools required for this procedure:

Removal

  1. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove the wiper motor assembly (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) and the nuts (x2) that secure the center support bracket to the body, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle (torque 20 Nm).

  4. Remove the bolts (x4) that secure the air suspension reservoir brackets to the body (torque 6 Nm).
  5. Remove the fir tree clips (x2) and the bolts (x4) that secure the air suspension reservoir to the body, and then move the air suspension reservoir aside for access.
  6. Remove the screws (x3) that secure the cover to the E-fuse module (torque 2.7 Nm).
  7. Release the tabs (x2), and then remove the transparent cover from the side of the E-fuse module.
  8. Remove the bolt that secures DCDC positive cable to the E-fuse module (torque 7 Nm).
  9. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the large cables to front of the E-fuse module (torque 5 Nm).
    Tip: Note the location of the labeled wires during removal.
  10. Remove the screws (x2) that secure the small cables to front of the E-fuse module (torque 5 Nm).
    Tip: Note the location of the labeled wires during removal.
  11. Remove the screws (x5) that secure the small cables to side of the E-fuse module (torque 4 Nm).
    Tip: Note the location of the labeled wires during removal.
  12. Remove the bolt that secures the ground cable to the E-fuse module (torque 4 Nm).
  13. Release the red locking tab, and then disconnect the logic connector from the E-fuse module.
  14. Remove the bolt that secures the E-fuse module to vehicle (torque 6 Nm).
  15. Release the tabs (x2), slide the E-fuse module back to release tabs, and then tilt the front down to release the E-fuse module from the bracket.
  16. Remove the bolt that secures the 12V power supply cable to the E-fuse module, and then remove the E-fuse module from vehicle (torque 7 Nm).

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  1. Install the new E-fuse module to the vehicle.
  2. Reinstall the components that were removed for access.
  3. Reinstall the vehicle firmware. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.
