Motor - Seat Track - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure is only applicable for the 3rd generation seats (3876527-XX-X) which are built on or after October, 2019.

Removal

  1. Open the LH front and rear doors and lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the HEPA filter. See Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the front screw that secures the LH outer seat trim assembly.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 2 in extension
    • Torx T20 socket
  6. Partially remove the LH outer seat trim assembly.

    Note
    Do not fully remove in case of possible damage to the trim/switch pack/harness.
  7. Disconnect the seat switch connector, and then remove the LH outer seat trim assembly.

    Slide the outer trim rearward to release the clip from the frame, and then lift the trim up over the pretensioner to remove it.
  8. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat.

    CAUTION
    Place fender cover to protect the seat cushion from damage.
  9. Use a clip prytool to remove the harness clip from the seat track motor.
  10. Disconnect the electrical harness from the driver seat track motor connector.
  11. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the driver seat track to the seat cushion frame.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 Bit Stubby
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 3 in extension
  12. Release the outboard track from the track motor bridge.

    Note
    Pry up on the track motor bridge tab and slide the outboard track away to release.
  13. Release the track motor bridge from the inboard track.

Installation

  1. Install the track motor bridge to the inboard seat track.

    Note
    The track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with the inboard track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the inboard track till it is fully and securely seated.
  2. Install the outboard seat track to the track motor bridge.

    The track motor cable is keyed square and must be aligned with the inboard track. Turn the cable by hand to align as needed. Slide the track motor bridge into the inboard track till it is fully and securely seated.
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the driver seat track to the seat cushion frame.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 Bit Stubby
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 3 in extension
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  4. Connect the electrical harness to the driver seat track motor connector.
  5. Install the harness clip to the seat track motor.
  6. Rotate the seat back to the upright position.
  7. Partially install the LH outer seat trim assembly.

    Note
    Apply light pressure to the rear of the outer trim to fully seat it onto the seat frame. A fully installed trim should not show any metal from the frame and should line up with the contour of the seat back.
  8. Install the seat switch connector.
  9. Install the clip that secures the LH outer seat trim assembly.
  10. Install the front screw that secures the LH outer seat trim assembly.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 2 in extension
    • Torx T20 socket
  11. Install the LH front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Install).
  12. Install the HEPA filter. See Filter - HEPA (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  14. Close the LH falcon door, and move the LH front seat to original position.
  15. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  16. Apply foot to the brake pedal, and hold the right turn signal indicator for more than 10 seconds.

    Note
    This step is required even when using a tethered Ethernet connection. Key fob must be present in the vehicle.
  17. On the laptop, select the Actions tab and search for PROC_VCSEATD_SEAT-CALIBRATESearch for routine in ToolboxVCSEAT Driver Seat Calibration. Select PROC_VCSEATD_SEAT-CALIBRATESearch for routine in ToolboxVCSEAT Driver Seat Calibration, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    Ensure nothing is sitting on the driver seat.
  18. Disconnect the laptop.
  19. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
  20. On the touchscreen, tap Controls > Calibrate to calibrate the falcon doors.
  21. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
