Door Assembly - Rear Upper - LH (Remove and Install)

Correction Code 10106701

Remove

  1. Open the LH rear door and fully lower the LH rear window.
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit. SeeUnderhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the HEPA filter. See.
  4. Remove LH upper rear door trim panel. SeePanel - Door Trim - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH rear door trim panel. SeePanel - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the LH upper rear door glass.SeeDoor Glass - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Fully open the LH rear door, and then support it with a rear door stand.
  8. Disconnect 12V power. SeeDisconnect 12V Power.
  9. Remove the LH rear lower door assembly. SeeDoor Assembly - Rear Lower - LH (Remove and Install).
  10. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the primary struts.
  11. Disconnect the rear door harness connectors, and then route the harness to the rear of the door assembly.
  12. Remove the clip that secures the front primary strut to the rear upper door assembly.

    CAUTION
    Make sure that the primary struts are near full extension before removing them. Disconnecting the struts when they are compressed might damage the struts.
  13. Remove the clip that secures the rear primary strut to the rear upper door assembly.
  14. Disconnect the harness from the rear door secondary strut, and then remove the harness from the door.
  15. Mark the installed position of the hinges on the door.

    CAUTION
    Use caution when removing the rear upper door bolts as they are spring loaded when the door is in the closed position.
  16. Remove the bolts that secure the rear upper door to the vehicle (torque 24 Nm).

  17. With an assistant, remove the LH upper door assembly from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
