Lower LH front window
-
Open LH falcon door, hood and liftgate
NoteVia UI > Controls > Front Trunk, Trunk, LH Falcon Door

Power off vehicle via UI
NoteVia center display > Controls > Safety > Power Off

Remove underhood aprons
Note4x aprons, LH and RH aprons have 1x clip each
-
Remove frunk carpet
Note2x connectors

Remove frunk assembly
Note10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
-
Remove HEPA filter housing
NoteLift up from bottom and pull out, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration

Disconnect 12V negative terminal
Note1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm

Disconnect first responder loop
Note1x connector, push to release

Remove LH rear welcome plate
Note8x clips

Apply tape to LH racetrack
NoteNeeded to avoid damage on the racetrack

Remove front screw securing LH lower C-pillar
Note1x screw, T25, 2.5 Nm, Discard patch bolt

Remove rear load floor
-
Remove LH trunk sill side trim
Note4x clips

Remove RH trunk sill side trim
Note4x clips
-
Remove trunk sill trim
Note4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Discard patch bolts after removal

Remove trunk board
-
Remove trunk floor carpet
-
Remove rear load floor support
Note4x push clips, 2x clips

Remove screw securing LH C-pillar mid trim
Note1x screw, T20, 2 Nm
-
Release LH upper C-pillar trim panel
Note1x patch bolt, T25, 3 Nm, 3x screws, T20, 2 Nm, Discard patch bolt after removal

Release clips and remove LH upper C-pillar trim panel
Note6x clips

Remove load floor support from LH lower C-pillar
Note3x tabs, 1x clip
-
Remove screws securing C-pillar lower panel to LH parcel shelf support
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm
-
Remove LH lower C-pillar from vehicle
-
Remove LH vent cover from trunk side carpet
Note8x tabs
-
Remove clips securing the trunk side carpet to vehicle
Note5x clips
-
Disconnect 12v power outlet
Note1x connector, Pull up the tie down loop and pull the rear portion of the trunk side carpet out for access
-
Remove LH trunk side carpet from vehicle
Note1x connector

Remove LH mid-zone C-pillar bracket from vehicle
Note2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, 2x edge clips, Edge clips secure chargeport release cables to bracket

Remove LH lower zone C-pillar bracket from vehicle
Note2x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 2x push clips
-
Remove LH minion bracket from vehicle
Note3x push clips
-
Remove charger duct
NoteRelease from plastic ducts at top and bottom
-
Remove warranty label from charger cover panel if present
NoteA new replacement label will not be installed
-
Inspect HV insulating gloves

Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves
NoteUse HV cut resistant insulated gloves or HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves, HV Insulating gloves must be worn any time a Hioki Tester or Hi-Pot Tester is used, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003 R5 for PPE requirements depending on vehicle configuration.

Remove charger access panel
Note11x patch bolts, T20, 2 Nm, Discard after removal, Make sure to wear proper PPE

Open charger small access door
Note2x tabs

Verify no high voltage
NoteMeasure B+ to B-, B+ to ground, and B- to ground, Make sure to wear proper PPE, Verify you are using a proper ground and not a coated surface, If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work escalate a toolbox session for assistance

Install charger access panel
Note11x patch bolts, T20, 2 Nm, Install new patch bolts
-
Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves
-
Disconnect charge port connector from charger
Note1x connector, Release white lock by pulling away from charger, Push down on lever and pull connector away to release 2nd stage, Use screwdriver to release 3rd stage and fully release connector

Remove HV harness from onboard charger
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 1x connector, After removing the 10mm bolt for the HV cables, the cables are removed by pulling up. After the cable are removed it will be easier to access the 10mm bolt for the ground cable.

Use a dummy plug or electrical tape to plug the holes for the HV Battery cables

Remove ground strap from charger
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Disconnect rear body control module and clips securing 12v harness
Note3x screws, T25, 3.5 Nm, 4x connectors, 2x clips
-
Disconnect parking brake controller
Note2x connectors
-
Disconnect the electrical connections from the charge port ECU
Note3x connectors

Disconnect park assist ECU and clip securing 12v harness to bracket
Note2x connectors, 1x barrel clip
-
Remove plastic clip securing 12v harness to coolant hose
Note1x clip

Disconnect 12v harness and move aside for clearance
Note7x connectors, 5x clips

Pull back the NVH padding to gain access to chargeport
-
Remove charge port assembly from vehicle
Note7x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, Discard bolts after removal
-
Remove E-Coat from the top face of the rivnut, the busbar grounds through the BIW
NoteClean area after rework with IPA and allow 1 minute dry time
-
Install new charge port assembly and updated fasteners from kit to vehicle
Note4x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, 3x bolts, T30, 6 Nm
-
Clean DC HV harness terminals and chargeport sockets
NoteUse plastic trim tool to push IPA wipe down between plastic divider, Allow 1 minute dry time
-
Apply Penetrox to backside of DC HV harness terminals
NoteApply 2 drops of Penetrox A-13 about 5mm in diameter to either side of the hole on both leads, Spread evenly to verify the contact surface is fully covered
-
Install DC HV harness into new charge port assembly
Note2x Nuts, 10mm, 9 Nm, Use nuts provided in chargeport retrofit kit (1521216-00-A)

Inspect HV insulating gloves

Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves

Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV joint from HV busbar lead to charge port stud
Note2x HV joints, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ).If the resistance is greater than 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ), stop work and escalate the Toolbox session.If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again.If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), Hioki test passed, proceed to next step.

Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves

Install DC HV harness inlet safety cap
NoteEnsure cap is fully seated to complete HVIL circuit

Secure DC HV harness inlet harness connector to chargeport
NoteEnsure white locking tab is engaged for connector x647

Secure AC HV harness inlet to chargeport
NoteEnsure lock is fully engaged

Secure AC HV harness inlet harness connector to chargeport
NoteEnsure white locking tab is engaged for connector x646

Pull back the NVH padding to gain access to the charge port ECU
-
Remove the chargeport ECU from vehicle
Note1x bolt, 10 mm, 5.5 Nm, Slide the ECU down off the bracket to remove

Install new chargeport ECU from retrofit kit
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 5.5 Nm, Slide the ECU up into bracket
-
Fold NVH padding back over chargeport ECU
-
Make connections at chargeport ECU
Note3x connectors

Fold NVH padding back into place at chargeport

Make connections at park assist ECU
Note2x connectors, 1x barrel clip

Make connections at parking brake controller

Secure connections at rear body control module
Note3x screws, T25, 3.5 Nm, 4x connectors, 2x clips

Make connections at 12v harness along C-pillar
Note7x connectors

Secure 12v harness to body with plastic clips

Connect charge port assembly connector to charger
Note1x connector, Make sure locking tab is secured

Install bolt securing ground strap to charger 3-phase
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm

Remove dummy plugs from charger
-
Install charge port HV harness into the charger
Note1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm, Bolt has Nystay applied to retain it to HV cables but does not require replacement

Install HVAC charger duct
-
Install LH minion bracket
Note3x clips
-
Install lower zone C-pillar bracket to vehicle
Note2x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 2x push clips
-
Install LH mid zone C-pillar bracket and install fasteners
Note2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, Secure 2x edge clips for charge port release cables

Install LH trunk side carpet panel
Note2x connectors, Reconnect trunk light and 12V outlet connectors before positioning panel, Use caution not to pinch rear PTC harness, See image for details

Install clips securing LH rear trunk side carpet panel to bracket
Note5x push clips, One is hidden between 3rd row seat and trunk side carpet panel
-
Install LH vent cover to trunk side carpet
Note8x tabs

Install LH trunk side load floor support
Note3x tabs, 1x clip

Install rear load floor support
Note4x push clips, 2x clips
-
Reinstall front lower carpet trim panel
NoteSecure 3rd row seat wiring harnesses to panel

Install trunk board
-
Install rear trunk sill trim
Note4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Make sure to seat liftgate seal properly, Install new patch bolts

Install RH trunk sill side trim
Note4x clips

Install lower C-pillar to vehicle along front edge
Note9x clips, 1x magnet

Install screws securing C-pillar lower panel to LH parcel shelf support
Note2x screws, T20, 2 Nm
-
Secure LH lower C-pillar trim to body
Note1x patch screw, T25, 2.5 Nm, Install new screw
-
Remove masking tape from the LH lower C-pillar
-
Install LH welcome plate
Note8x clips
-
Move LH and RH 2nd row seat from easy entry position to regular upright seating position
NoteSlide seat track backwards by pushing towards rear of vehicle, Fold upper seat backwards until locked in an upright position

Install trunk side nub to lower C-pillar
Note3x tabs, 1x clip
-
Install LH upper C-pillar trim panel
Note6x clips

Install LH upper C-pillar screws
Note1x screw, T25, 3x screws, T20
-
Install LH C-pillar mid trim
Note9x clips, Install front section first, then work around to rear

Install LH trunk sill side trim
Note4x clips

Fold LH 3rd row seat up
NotePress button located on LH 3rd row seat back assembly near headrest, lift seat back into an upright position

Install rear load floor
-
Connect the 12v power
Note1x nut, 10mm, 10 Nm

Connect first responder loop
Note1x connector

Install HEPA filter housing
NoteAlign opening on back of housing to HEPA filter outlet duct opening, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration

Install frunk assembly
Note10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Hand start all bolts first then tighten with tools

Install frunk carpet
Note2x connectors

Install under hood aprons
Note4x aprons

Close hood
-
Calibrate falcon doors via UI
NoteVia Controls > Calibrate, Required after 12V and FRL disconnect

Close both falcon wing doors
NoteVia Controls > Doors

Connect vehicle to WiFi connection
NoteConnect vehicle to WiFi or Tesla WiFi if available, Maintain WiFi connection for profile functions and firmware download

Place vehicle in Service Mode
NoteEnter Service mode through touchscreen. Press Car icon => Go to Software tab=> Press and hold ''Model'' for 3 seconds=>In new window type ''service'' or press voice command button on steering wheel and say ''service''=>Press ''OK'' button. Car is in service mode now

Reinstall Software from UI
NoteSelect Controls > Service Mode > Software Reinstall

Request CAN ECU software reinstall
NoteControls > Service Mode > Software Reinstall > CAN ECU > Install

Perform firmware update
NoteControls or yellow clock installation icon > Software Update > Install now, Tap center display next to software update window until clock runs down to 0, After displayed installation time, Check center display and ensure the firmware package was successfully installed

Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and install cubby
Note1x connector, 2x clips, Ensure diagnostic cables are tucked into appropriate position then engage cubby
