Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the liftgate.

    Set the liftgate to a comfortable working height.
  2. Use a trim tool to release the clips that attach the lower liftgate trim.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the interior liftgate switch.
  4. Remove the lower liftgate trim from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Replace any broken clips.

Note
Use a piece of felt tape to attach the clips to the liftgate trim panel. Do not use grease or glue to secure the clips to the liftgate trim panel.
  1. Remove the screws that attach the interior liftgate switch to the lower liftgate trim (torque 1.3 Nm). Transfer the interior liftgate switch to the new lower liftgate trim.
