Channel - Glass Run - Front - LH (Retrofit)

Note
The glass run channel is an obsolete component. If the glass run channel needs to be removed to access another component, do not reinstall it.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and open the window.
  2. Remove the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove and discard the bolts (x4) that secure the module bracket to the door (torque 6 Nm), and then set module aside.

    CAUTION
    The power door may move when the module is moved due to the presence of a sensor inside.
  4. Use the window switch tool to raise the LH front window half way up.
  5. Release the two nuts that attach the glass run channel to the door (torque 10 Nm).
  6. Release the top rail stud bracket from the door, push the glass run channel to the front of the door, release the bottom rail bracket, and then pull the glass run channel out through the top of the door. Discard the glass run channel.

    Do not reinstall the glass run channel. The glass run channel is an obsolete component.
  7. Use the window switch tool to fully raise the LH front window.
  8. Use IPA wipes to clean the LH front window regulator.
  9. Cut 150 mm (6 in) of foam tape, and then apply the foam tape to the inside of the LH front window regulator.
  10. Cover the glass run channel stud holes with butyl patches.
  11. Use the window switch tool to fully raise the LH front window.
  12. Install new bolts (x4) that attach the module bracket to the door (torque 6 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Make sure that the wiring for the LH mirror is properly routed.
  13. Make sure that the front window operates as intended, and then disconnect the window switch tool.
  14. Install the LH front door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
