Trim - B-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 15183002

Removal

  1. Remove the lower B-pillar trim panel (refer to procedure).
  2. Use a trim tool to remove the plastic cap that covers the pretensioner anchor bolt on the LH 1st row seatbelt.
  3. Remove the anchor bolt and inboard upper pretensioner cover (torque 9 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Replace all patchbolt(s).
  4. Discard the anchor bolt and inboard upper pretensioner cover.
  5. Carefully release the seatbelt assembly from the outer pretensioner cover.
  6. Wrap the seatbelt connector with protective tape to prevent it from damaging interior trim.
  7. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the bottom of the upper B-pillar trim panel to the body (torque 2.5 Nm).
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the upper B-pillar trim.
  9. Release the edge clips that secure the electrical harnesses to the upper B-pillar trim panel.
  10. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Replace any broken clips.

CAUTION
Replace all patchbolt(s).

  • Transfer the B-pillar rear door switch to the new upper B-pillar trim panel (torque 2 Nm).

  • Position the pretensioner and fixed end of the seatbelt over the bolt hole.
