Door - Charge Port (GB) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open LH falcon door, hood and liftgate
    Note
    Via UI > Controls > Front Trunk, Trunk, LH Falcon Door
  2. Remove LH welcome plate
    Note
    8x clips
  3. Apply tape to LH racetrack
    Note
    Needed to avoid damage on the racetrack
  4. Remove front screw securing LH C-pillar lower
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  5. Remove rear load floor
  6. Remove LH trunk sill side trim
    Note
    4x clips
  7. Remove RH trunk sill side trim
    Note
    4x clips
  8. Remove trunk sill plate
    Note
    T25 (x2)
  9. Remove trunk board
  10. Remove trunk floor carpet
  11. Remove load floor support
    Note
    Push pins (x4)
  12. Remove screw securing LH C-pillar mid trim
    Note
    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm
  13. Remove fasteners securing RH upper C-pillar trim panel
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 3 Nm, 3x screws, T20, 2 Nm, Discard T25 fastener after removal
  14. Remove the C-pillar upper trim
  15. Remove load floor support from LH lower C-pillar
    Note
    3x tabs, 1x clip
  16. Remove screws securing LH lower C-pillar
    Note
    2x screws, T20
  17. Remove LH lower C-pillar from vehicle
  18. Remove LH vent cover from trunk side carpet
    Note
    8x tabs
  19. Remove clips securing the trunk side carpet to vehicle
    Note
    5x clips
  20. Disconnect 12v power outlet
    Note
    1x connector, Pull up the tie down loop and pull the rear portion of the trunk side carpet out for access
  21. Remove LH trunk side carpet from vehicle
    Note
    1x connector
  22. Remove LH mid-zone C-pillar bracket from vehicle
    Note
    2x screws, T20, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, 2x edge clips, Edge clips secure chargeport release cables to bracket
  23. Remove LH lower zone C-pillar bracket from vehicle
    Note
    2x bolts, T30, 5Nm , 2x clips
  24. Remove LH minion bracket
    Note
    2x clips
  25. Remove charger duct
    Note
    Release from plastic ducts at top and bottom
  26. Raise hood
  27. Remove underhood aprons
    Note
    4x aprons, 11x clips each, 3x datums First remove rear apron, Then remove LH and RH aprons, Last remove front apron
  28. Remove frunk carpet
    Note
    2x connectors, Release the carpet from underneath the seal
  29. Remove frunk assembly
    Note
    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  30. Remove HEPA filter housing
    Note
    Lift up from bottom and pull out, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration
  31. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal
    Note
    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm
  32. Disconnect first responder loop
    Note
    1x connector, push to release
  33. Remove warranty label from charger cover panel if present
    Note
    A new replacement label will not be installed
  34. Remove charger access panel
    Note
    11x patch bolts, T20, 2 Nm, Discard after removal, Make sure to wear proper PPE
  35. Open charger small access door
    Note
    2x tabs
  36. Verify no high voltage
    Note
    Measure B+ to B-, B+ to ground, and B- to ground, Make sure to wear proper PPE, Verify you are using a proper ground and not a coated surface, If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work escalate a toolbox session for assistance
  37. Remove HV harness from onboard charger

  38. Disconnect rear body control module and clips securing 12v harness
    Note
    Electrical connection (x4)Clips (x2)
  39. Disconnect parking brake controller
    Note
    Electrical connection (x2)
  40. Disconnect actuator harness from charge port ECU
  41. Disconnect park assist ECU and clip securing 12v harness to bracket
    Note
    Electrical connection (x2)
  42. Remove plastic clip securing 12v harness to coolant hose
  43. Disconnect 12v harness and move aside for clearance
    Note
    Electrical connection (x7)Plastic clips (x4)
  44. Remove charge port assembly from vehicle
    Note
    7x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, Discard bolts after removal
  45. Push rubber grommet securing charge port harness through body and unplug the door harness from the ECU
    Note
    1x harness connector
  46. Remove charge port outer trim assembly from body
    Note
    *pull from outside of body with force

Install

  1. Using MCU close all doors and liftgate
