Coax Cable - Side Repeater - Front - LH (Replace)

Procedure

  1. Identify the LH repeater coax cable in the donor harness.

    Note
    The LH repeater coax cable has a brown single connector at one end and occupies cavity 1 of the brown dual connector at the other end.
  2. Use the pin drag kit to carefully lift and remove the purple locking insert out of the dual connector.
  3. Use the pin drag kit to carefully lift the locking tab of cavity 1 on the dual connector, and at the same time, pull the LH repeater coax cable from the dual connector.
  4. Wrap the length of the LH repeater coax cable with anti-abrasion tape.

    Note
    Do not wrap the brown connector or the bare connector with tape.
  5. Remove the RH welcome plate (refer to procedure).
  6. Remove the RH rear sill panel trim (refer to procedure).
  7. Remove the RH front sill panel trim (refer to procedure).
  8. Remove the RH instrument panel side cover assembly (refer to procedure).
  9. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim (refer to procedure).
  10. Remove the RH center console closeout extension (refer to procedure).
  11. Remove the passenger footwell cover assembly (refer to procedure).
  12. Release the clip and fold the front RH carpet rearward.
  13. Release the clips (x4) that attach the foam floor support to the body, and then remove the support from the footwell
  14. Move the vehicle to a 2-post lift, but do not raise it at this time.
  15. Chock the rear wheels, and place the vehicle into Jack mode and then Tow Mode.
  16. Remove the rear center underhood apron (refer to procedure).
  17. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons (refer to procedure).
  18. Remove the underhood storage unit (refer to procedure).
  19. Remove the HEPA filter housing (refer to procedure).
  20. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
  21. Remove the wiper arms (refer to procedure).
  22. Remove the cowl screen panel (refer to procedure).
  23. Remove the HEPA filter duct (refer to procedure).
  24. Remove the wiper motor assembly (refer to procedure).
  25. Move the air suspension reservoir off to the side (refer to procedure).

    CAUTION
    Do not loosen or disconnect the air line fitting to the reservoir.
  26. Remove the screw that attaches the ground strap to the HV junction box, and then release the clips (x3) that attach the main front electrical harness to the bulkhead.
  27. Release the electrical harness dust boot from the bulkhead.
  28. Remove the tape attaching the dust boot to the electrical harness.
  29. Insert the bare connector end of the LH repeater coax cable into the narrow end of the dust boot.
  30. Carefully pull approximately 12 inches of cable through the boot, and move that length through the opening in the bulkhead.
  31. Locate connector X820 on the RH side of the center console.
  32. Make sure that there is enough slack in the LH repeater coax cable to reach connector X820.
  33. Attach the LH repeater coax cable to the body electrical harness with two cable ties.
  34. Remove excess cable tie length.
  35. Push the tabs to separate connector X820.
  36. Use the pin drag kit to carefully lift and remove the purple locking insert out of the male side of connector X820.
  37. Use the pin drag kit to carefully lift the locking tab of cavity 1 on connector X820M, and at the same time, pull the old coax cable from the connector.
  38. Insert the LH repeater coax cable into cavity 1 of connector X820M, and then install the purple locking insert into the connector.
  39. Reconnect the male and female halves of connector X820.
  40. Wrap the bare connector of the old coax cable with tape.
  41. Attach the coax cable to the body electrical harness with a cable tie.
  42. Remove excess cable tie length.
  43. Install the foam floor support into the RH footwell, and then fasten the clips that attach the support to the body.
  44. Unfold the passenger carpet forward, and then fasten the clip.
  45. Install the passenger footwell cover assembly (refer to procedure).
  46. Install the RH center console closeout extension (refer to procedure).
  47. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim (refer to procedure).
  48. Install the RH instrument panel side cover assembly (refer to procedure).
  49. Install the RH front sill panel trim (refer to procedure).
  50. Install the RH rear sill panel trim (refer to procedure).
  51. Install the RH welcome plate (refer to procedure).
  52. Apply tape to attach the narrow end of the dust boot to the frunk electrical harness, and then install the dust boot into the bulkhead.
  53. Raise the vehicle and remove the LH front wheel (refer to procedure).
  54. Remove the push clips (x5) and nut that attach rear half of the wheel arch liner to the body
  55. Fold the liner forward, and then place the liner between the brake rotor and fascia.
  56. Apply tape to the LH fender around the side repeater.
  57. Release the tabs on the LH side repeater, and push the repeater out of the body.
  58. Disconnect the repeater electrical harness from the LH side repeater connectors, and then remove the repeater assembly from the vehicle.
  59. Route the LH repeater coax cable along the frunk electrical harness, along the old coax cable, and out the side repeater hole in the LH fender.
  60. Use cable ties or tape to attach the LH repeater coax cable to the frunk electrical harness and old coax cable for every 150mm to 200mm of cable length.

    Note
    Use edge clips, cable ties, and tape as necessary to prevent the LH repeater coax cable from contacting abrasive surfaces or sharp edges.
  61. Remove excess cable tie length.
  62. Remove the connector from the old coax cable, and attach the old coax cable to the LH repeater light electrical harness with tape.
  63. Connect the LH repeater light connector and LH repeater coax cable connector to the new repeater assembly.
  64. Install the new repeater into the LH fender.
  65. Unfold the wheel arch liner back to its mounting position, and then install the push clips (x5) and nut that attach the liner to the body (torque 6 Nm).
  66. Install the LH front wheel and remove the vehicle from the lift (refer to procedure).
  67. Chock the rear wheels.
  68. Fasten the clips (x3) that attach the main front electrical harness to the bulkhead, and then install the screw that attaches the ground strap to the HV junction box (torque 9 Nm).
  69. Install the air suspension reservoir (refer to procedure).
  70. Install the wiper motor assembly (refer to procedure).
  71. Install the HEPA filter duct (refer to procedure).
  72. Install the cowl screen panel (refer to procedure).
  73. Install the wiper arms (refer to procedure).
  74. Connect 12V power and put the vehicle into Park (refer to procedure).
  75. Install the HEPA filter housing (refer to procedure).
  76. Install the underhood storage unit (refer to procedure).
  77. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons (refer to procedure).
  78. Install the rear center underhood apron (refer to procedure).
  79. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  80. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  81. In Toolbox 3, click Dashboards > Service Tools > DAS Clear Calibration > Clear Calibration Repeaters.
  82. In Toolbox 3, click Dashboards > Service Tools > View DAS Images > Pre-Calibration, and follow the on-screen instructions to capture the image.
  83. Verify that all cameras are functioning correctly.
  84. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
