Sensor - Impact Accelerometer - Front Bumper - LH (Remove and Replace)

Note
Refer to the Parts Catalog to determine the appropriate replacement part for the vehicle.

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  4. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  5. Remove the LH front wheel. SeeWheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Release the clips (x7) and remove the nut that secure the front of the LH front wheel liner to the vehicle.
    Note
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  7. Move the front of the LH front wheel liner towards the rear of the vehicle for access.
  8. Release the locking tab and disconnect the LH frontal accelerometer connector.
    Note
    The accelerometer sensor is located on the LH headlamp assembly.
  9. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH frontal accelerometer sensor to the vehicle, and then remove the sensor from the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH frontal accelerometer sensor into the vehicle, and then install the bolt that attaches the sensor to the vehicle.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  2. Connect the LH frontal accelerometer connector and secure the locking tab.
  3. Move the front of the LH front wheel liner back into the original position. Make sure to tuck the liner into the wheel garnish.
  4. Install the clips and nut that secure the front of the LH front wheel liner to the vehicle.
  5. Install the LH front wheel. SeeWheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Connect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  7. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the vehicle from the lift.
    Note
    Lower rack arms fully and move them from under vehicle. Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode" via Controls > Service > Jack Mode.
  9. Calibrate the falcon doors via the vehicle touchscreen: Controls > Calibrate.
  10. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
