Reservoir - Air Suspension (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the rear center apron and inspect the vehicle for a Schrader fill valve on the RH shock tower. See Underhood Apron - Center - Rear (Remove and Replace).
    • If the vehicle does not have a Schrader fill valve, install it now. See Fill Valve - Air (Retrofit). Then continue to the next step.
    • If the vehicle has a Schrader fill valve, continue to the next step.
  2. Raise the vehicle, and depressurize the air suspension reservoir. See Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System .
  3. Remove the wiper motor assembly.
  4. Release the push clips (x2) that secure the fuse box harness.
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the wiper mount bracket to the crossmember (torque 20 Nm).
  6. Remove the nuts (x2) that secure the wiper mount bracket to the studs on the bulkhead (torque 20 Nm).
  7. Remove the wiper mount bracket from the vehicle.
  8. Move the air suspension reservoir away from the bulkhead:
    1. Release the clips (x2) that secure the LH front air suspension line.
    2. Release the clip that secures the air lines to the crossmember.
    3. Release the nuts (x4) that secure the air suspension reservoir (torque 6 Nm).
    4. Carefully maneuver the air suspension reservoir away from the bulkhead.
  9. Use 2 wrenches to release the fitting from the reservoir: 1 to hold the fitting (12 mm) and 1 to hold the mounting (13 mm) (torque 5 Nm).

    CAUTION
    Plug the line connection to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
  10. Remove the air suspension reservoir from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Replace any broken clips.
  1. Make sure that all air suspension lines are securely reconnected before continuing.
  2. Refill the air suspension system with Nitrogen. See Air Suspension - Pressurize/Depressurize - Full System .

    Note
    If the reservoir was replaced because of a leak, perform the additional steps to purge the accumulated moisture from the dryer.
  3. Cycle the ride height and make sure that the air suspension system is working properly.
