Key Fob - Unpair
Correction Code 17450613
- 2024-09-05: Added steps to unpair key fob using UI for Intel vehicles.
Procedure
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- If Service Mode or Service Mode Plus is not yet enabled, enable Service Mode through the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
- Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.

Unpair the key fob from the vehicle.
- For Intel vehicles:
- Authenticate on the vehicle local Service app with user account.
- Retrieve key info: On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Run and allow the routine to complete. , and then tap
- Locate the key fob to unpair, and
then tap Unpair.Tip: If the key is present, press any key fob button and the corresponding slot will be highlighted on the touchscreen.
- For Tegra vehicles:
- In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type
"KEYFOBS" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_GET-PAIRED-KEYFOBSvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode Plus: Low Voltage ➜ Keys ➜ Get Keys Info, click Run, and allow the
routine to complete.NoteAll key fobs that are paired to the vehicle are displayed.
- Copy the Hex ID that will be used to unpair the key fob.Tip: Paste the ID into a text file if more than one ID needs to be copied.
- In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "pair" into the search field, and click PROC_BCCEN_X_UNPAIR-KEYvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Low Voltage ➜ Keys ➜ Unpair.
- Select Perform Vehicle Checks, paste the copied Hex ID into the Key Fob ID field, and then click Run.
- In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type
"KEYFOBS" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_GET-PAIRED-KEYFOBSvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode Plus: Low Voltage ➜ Keys ➜ Get Keys Info, click Run, and allow the
routine to complete.
- For Intel vehicles:
- Verify the key fob is unpaired from the vehicle. Check the lock/unlock and trunk/frunk release functions to confirm.
- Disable service mode. See Service Mode.
- Once all Toolbox 3 routines have been completed, disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
