Key Fob - Unpair

Correction Code 17450613

  • 2024-09-05: Added steps to unpair key fob using UI for Intel vehicles.

Procedure

  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  2. If Service Mode or Service Mode Plus is not yet enabled, enable Service Mode through the touchscreen. See Service Mode.
  3. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  4. Unpair the key fob from the vehicle.
    • For Intel vehicles:
      1. Authenticate on the vehicle local Service app with user account.
      2. Retrieve key info: On the vehicle touchscreen, navigate to Service Mode > Low Voltage > Keys > Get Keys Info, and then tap Run and allow the routine to complete.
      3. Locate the key fob to unpair, and then tap Unpair.
        Tip: If the key is present, press any key fob button and the corresponding slot will be highlighted on the touchscreen.
    • For Tegra vehicles:
      1. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "KEYFOBS" into the search field, click PROC_BCCEN_X_GET-PAIRED-KEYFOBSSearch for routine in ToolboxGet Paired Key FobsLow Voltage / Keys - Get Keys Info, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.

        Note
        All key fobs that are paired to the vehicle are displayed.
      2. Copy the Hex ID that will be used to unpair the key fob.
        Tip: Paste the ID into a text file if more than one ID needs to be copied.
      3. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "pair" into the search field, and click PROC_BCCEN_X_UNPAIR-KEYSearch for routine in ToolboxUnpair Key FobLow Voltage / Keys - Unpair.
      4. Select Perform Vehicle Checks, paste the copied Hex ID into the Key Fob ID field, and then click Run.
  5. Verify the key fob is unpaired from the vehicle. Check the lock/unlock and trunk/frunk release functions to confirm.
  6. Disable service mode. See Service Mode.
  7. Once all Toolbox 3 routines have been completed, disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
