Actuator - Headrest - 3rd Row Seat - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the seat back carpet (refer to procedure).
  2. Release the clips that secure the seat fabric to the seat back panel.
  3. Use a drill with a 3/16 in (5 mm) bit to drill out the rivets that secure the seat back panel to the seat frame.
  4. Release the harness clip from the seat back panel.
  5. Carefully separate the seat back panel from the seat frame to access the recliner cables. Cut the cable tie and separate the recliner cables from the seat back panel.
  6. Remove the seat back panel from the seat frame.
  7. Remove the fasteners that secure the headrest actuator to the seat frame.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headrest actuator, and then remove the headrest actuator from the seat frame.

    Note
    The following steps are necessary in order to fully remove the debris from the seat frame.
  9. Remove and discard the bolt that secures the seat belt assembly to the seat frame (torque 45 Nm). Set aside the seat belt assembly.

    CAUTION
    Replace all patchbolt(s).
  10. Remove the fasteners that secure the recliner actuator to the seat frame.
  11. Disconnect the electrical connector from the recliner actuator, and then remove the recliner actuator from the seat frame.
  12. Clean the debris from the seat frame area with a vacuum.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
