Module - HomeLink Transmitter (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the HomeLink transmitter module.
  3. Gently pry the LH tab away from the HomeLink transmitter module to release it from the bracket. Release the HomeLink transmitter module from the bracket by sliding it to the LH side of the vehicle.
  4. Remove the HomeLink transmitter module from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Note
Before fully installing the front fascia, ensure the HomeLink icon appears on the touchscreen as expected.
  1. Make sure that the Gateway configuration is corretly set. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change) and set the value for homelink as shown below:
    • When installing a homelink module with part number 1020147 or 1005371, set the value to gen1
    • When installing a homelink module with part number 1114984, set the value to vopt2
  2. Encode the module with the appropriate country code:
    1. In Toolbox 3, select the Actions tab, and then search for "Homelink Country".
    2. Select the ODIN routine PROC_MCU_X_SET-HOMELINK-COUNTRYvia Toolbox: (link), and then click on the link of the routine.
    3. Click RUN, and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    The region to program is automatically detected by the routine from the vehicle configuration data.
  3. After encoding the module, park the vehicle near the relevant door or gate and program the HomeLink module. Refer to the Owner's Manual for instructions.
