Rear Door Spring - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 11336002

Removal

  1. Remove the spine closing plate. See Closing Plate - Spine (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the center spine applique. See Applique - Spine - Center (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH rear door primary seal. See Seal - Primary - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH upper racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH front fastener that secures the hinge cover (torque 5 Nm).
  6. Remove the LH carrier bracket from the body:
    1. Working from outside the vehicle, remove the screws that secure the carrier bracket to the body (torque 1.5 Nm).
    2. Working from inside the vehicle, remove the nuts that secure the carrier bracket (torque 1.5 Nm).
    3. Remove the LH carrier bracket from the vehicle.
  7. Disconnect the primary and secondary rear door struts.
  8. Remove the front and rear primary rear door struts. See Strut - Rear Door - Primary - LH (Remove and Replace).

    Make sure that the door is supported in the fully up position before continuing. Either have an assistant manually support the full weight of the door or use a pole jack.

    Note
    For the remainder of this procedure, overextend the door as much as possible to allow easier removal of the spring.
  9. Release the screws that secure the spring cover bracket (torque 5 Nm).
  10. Remove the spring from the vehicle..

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

After installing the spring, close the door to make sure that the spring functions properly and that the door does not require adjustment.
