Module - Seat Memory - Front Seat (Remove and Replace)

Removal

  1. Raise the LH front seat.
  2. Disconnect 12V power (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the lower seat trim.
  4. Disconnect the harnesses from the seat memory module.
  5. Release the module from the seat.

    Note
    In some vehicles, the module is secured with fasteners (torque 5 Nm).

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
  3. To disable seat install mode, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Seat-Install" into the search field, click PROC_BCREAR_X_SEAT-INSTALL-MODE-OFFSearch for routine in ToolboxSeat Install Mode Off (Monopost Seats), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  4. Choose from:
    • If replacing the memory seat module on the driver seat: To calibrate the driver seat, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "PROC_MSMD" into the search field, click PROC_MSMD_VCSEATD-FRONT-DRV_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEATSearch for routine in ToolboxCalibrates the Driver Seat on Legacy SXLow Voltage / Seats - Calibrate Driver Seat, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    • If replacing the memory seat module on the front passenger seat:
      1. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Sensor-Rezero" into the search field, click PROC_OCS_FRONT-PAS_SENSOR-REZEROSearch for routine in ToolboxOccupant Classification System Re-Zero routine, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
      2. To calibrate the front passenger seat, in Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "PROC_MSMP" into the search field, click PROC_MSMP_VCSEATP-FRONT-PAS_CALIBRATE-MEMORY-SEATSearch for routine in ToolboxCalibrates the Passenger Seat on Legacy SXLow Voltage / Seats - Calibrate Passenger Seat, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  5. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
