Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 10011002

Choose the appropriate procedure based on the vehicle's configuration and date of manufacture:
  • 2023-06-30: Added steps for vehicles built after April 10, 2016.
  • 2023-08-10: Updated 1st Gen procedure to latest validation.

1st Generation

Removal

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Lower the LH front window.
  3. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  4. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  5. Apply masking tape to protect the LH and RH fenders.
  6. Disconnect the fascia harness connector and release the clip that secures the fascia harness to the front fascia carrier.
  7. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the fascia and applique to the fascia carrier (torque 4 Nm).
  8. Remove the screw that attaches the fascia panel to the LH front fender (torque 1.5 Nm).
  9. Remove the screw that attaches the fascia panel to the RH front fender (torque 1.5 Nm).
  10. Remove the clips (x10) that secure the undershield to the lower valance.
  11. With assistance, carefully release the fascia from the LH and RH fender bracket lugs (x2).
  12. With assistance, release the fascia panel from the fascia carrier.
  13. Remove the fascia assembly from the vehicle, and then place the fascia on a protected surface.
  14. Remove any debris from the radiator and condensers.
  15. Disconnect the front parking sensor connectors (x6), if equipped.
  16. Disconnect the LH and RH louver actuator connectors (x2).
  17. Release the clips (x20) that attach the front fascia harness to the fascia, and then remove the harness from the fascia.
  18. Remove the parking sensors (x6) from the front fascia assembly, if equipped.
  19. Remove the screws (x5) (torque 1.8 Nm) and nut (torque 3 Nm) that attach the LH front fog light and louver assembly to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the fog light and louver from the fascia.
  20. Remove the screws (x5) (torque 1.8 Nm) and nut (torque 3 Nm) that attach the RH front fog light and louver assembly to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the fog light and louver from the fascia.
  21. Release the tabs (x16) and remove the bolts (x4) (torque 3 Nm) that attach the front diffuser to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the diffuser from the fascia.
  22. Release the tabs (x22) and remove the screws (x2) (torque 3 Nm) that attach the front fascia grille to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the grille from the fascia.
  23. Release the tabs (x6) and remove the screws (x4) (torque 3 Nm) that attach the nosecone to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the nosecone from the fascia.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  • Perform a radar sensor calibration only if the front radar sensor likely moved outside of its calibration tolerance (due to front end collision, contact while removing the fascia, etc.). See Calibration - Front Radar Sensor.

Reuse

Removal

  1. Remove the front fascia. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the parking sensors from the front fascia assembly. See Sensor - Parking Distance - Inner - Front (Remove and Replace) and Sensor - Parking Distance - Outer - Front (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH and the RH louver assembly from the front fascia assembly. See Active Louver - Front Fascia - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH and the RH headlight assembly from the fascia assembly. See Headlight Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor. See Sensor - Ambient Air Temperature - Compressor (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the air quality sensor.
  7. Release the remaining clips and remove the electrical harness from the front fascia assembly.
  8. Remove the front fascia grille. See Grille - Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the T-badge to the T-badge support and the screws (x3) that attach the T-badge support to the front fascia assembly, and then release the clips (x4) to remove the T-badge support from the front fascia assembly.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 4 in extension

Installation

  1. Place a new front fascia assembly on the padded workbench.
  2. Place the T-badge support onto the front fascia assembly, secure the clips (x4), and then install the screws (x3) that attach the T-badge support to the front fascia assembly and the screws (x3) that attach the T-badge to the T-badge support.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  3. Install the front fascia grille. See Grille - Fascia - Front (Remove and Replace).
  4. Place the harness onto the front fascia assembly, and then secure the clips (x16).
  5. Install the air quality sensor.
  6. Install the ambient air temperature sensor. See Sensor - Ambient Air Temperature - Compressor (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH and the RH headlight assembly. See Headlight Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the parking sensors to the front fascia assembly. See Sensor - Parking Distance - Inner - Front (Remove and Replace) and Sensor - Parking Distance - Outer - Front (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH and the RH louver assembly to the front fascia assembly. See Active Louver - Front Fascia - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the front fascia. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
