Coolant Rapid Mate - Vehicle Side (Remove & Replace)

  • 2023-04-06: Removed step for partial fill and added step for coolant air purge.

Special tool(s) required for this procedure:

Remove

  1. Remove the HV battery assembly. See HV Battery (RWD/AWD) (Remove and Install) .
  2. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the coolant hose rapid mate to the body (torque 8 Nm).
  3. Clamp the coolant hose from the rapid mate to HV battery heater and the coolant hose from the rapid mate to 4-way valve, and then remove the coolant hoses from the rapid mate.
  4. Remove the rapid mate from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the new coolant rapid mate onto the coolant hose from the rapid mate to the HV battery heater.
  2. Install the new coolant rapd mate to the coolant hose from the rapid mate to the 4-way valve.
  3. Remove the clamp from the coolant hose from rapid mate to the HV battery heater.
  4. Remove the clamp from the coolant hose from the rapid mate to the 4-way valve.
  5. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the coolant hose rapid mate to the body (torque 8 Nm).
  6. Install the HV battery assembly. See HV Battery (RWD/AWD) (Remove and Install) .
  7. Connect a laptop to the diagnostic port of the vehicle, and then use Toolbox 3 to locally connect to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  8. Unlock the vehicle gateway for diagnostic communication. See Gateway Unlock.
  9. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Coolant air purge" into the search field, click PROC_THC_X_COOLANT-AIR-PURGESearch for routine in ToolboxThermalThermal / Actions - Coolant Air Purge, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  10. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.
