HVIL Lid Switch - Forward Junction Box (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 44202402

  1. Remove the HV Battery (refer to procedure).
  2. Release the drain tube from the body.
  3. Release the clip that attaches the HV harness to the bulkhead, allowing the HV harness to be moved out of the way for the front harness to pass behind the HV harness during removal.
  4. Remove the fastener that secures the forward junction box ground strap to the vehicle (torque 9 Nm).
  5. On the RH side of the forward junction box, release the fasteners (x4) that secure the HV cables (torque 7 Nm).
  6. On the RH side of the forward junction box, disconnect the low voltage connector.
  7. On the LH side of the forward junction box, release the fasteners (x4) that secure the HV cables (torque 7 Nm).
  8. Release the fasteners (x2) at the base of the forward junction box (torque 7 Nm).
  9. Slightly loosen the nut on the RH side of the forward junction box, but do not release it.

    The nut secures the forward junction box to the vehicle during the next step.
  10. Disconnect the 4 harnesses on the LH side of the forward junction box.
  11. Remove the nut on the RH side of the forward junction box (torque 7 Nm).
  12. Remove the forward junction box from the vehicle.
  13. Remove the boltx (x10) that attach the forward junction box cover to the forward junction box housing (torque 4.2 Nm).
  14. Remove the forward junction box cover and inspect the cover gasket. Replace the cover if any damage is found.
  15. Release the HVIL lid switch connector.
  16. Release the HVIL lid switch bracket.
  17. Remove the HVIL lid switch from the forward junction box.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  1. Install the new HVIL lid switch into the forward junction box.

    Make sure that the pin on the switch is correctly aligned with the forward junction box housing.
  2. Secure the HVIL lid switch with a new HVIL lid switch bracket.
