Molding - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction Code 12202002

Removal

  1. Air suspension vehicles: Set the ride height to very high.
  2. Open the LH front and LH rear doors.
  3. Turn the steering wheel fully to the left.
  4. Release the LH secondary rear side body seal from the top of the LH rocker panel, but leave the seal attached to the LH rear quarter panel. See Seal - Body - Side - Rear - Secondary - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  5. Release the clips (x7) that attach the lower backside of the LH scuff plate to the vehicle, and then remove the scuff plate.
    Tip: Remove the scuff plate by sliding it toward the rear of the vehicle.

  6. Remove the screws (x7) that attach the LH rocker panel molding to the body (torque 1.5 Nm).
  7. Remove the plastic rivets (x2) that attach the front wheel arch liner to the LH rocker panel molding.
  8. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH rear wheel well liner to the LH rear wheel fairing and body.
  9. Release the clips (x2) that attach the LH rear wheel fairing to the LH shear plate.
  10. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear wheel fairing to the underside of the vehicle (torque 8 Nm).
  11. Remove the bolt behind the LH rear wheel well liner that attaches the LH rear wheel fairing to the vehicle, and then remove the fairing (torque 10 Nm).
  12. Release the clip that attaches the rear LH rocker panel molding to the vehicle.
  13. Release the rocker panel molding lower clip covers (x5).
  14. Remove the clips (x5) that were hidden by the rocker panel modling lower clip covers.
  15. Remove the rocker panel molding from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  1. Transfer the rocker panel bright molding to the new rocker panel molding.
