Fan - Condenser - RH (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate activity to the Service Visit.

Removal

  1. Remove the front wheel arch liner Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. If equipped, release the bolts (x2) that secure the front bumper support bar (torque 11 Nm). Remove the bar from the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the fan motor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the condenser brackets (torque 3 Nm).
    • Rear Wheel Drive - 4 bolts on the bottom of the fan.
    • Dual Motor - 4 bolts on top of the fan.
  5. Release condenser from the mounting and collect the brackets.
  6. Release condenser from upper mounting and remove assembly from vehicle.

    CAUTION
    Exercise care when removing condenser to avoid damage.
  7. Remove the bolts (x4) that secure the fan assembly to the condenser (torque 6 Nm).
  8. Carefully separate the fan housing from the condenser, and remove it from the vehicle.
  9. Remove any debris collected in the condenser and fan housing.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
