Note
Before disconnecting the 12V power supply, ensure that the driver’s door window is fully open. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.

Note
This procedure requires the A/C Refrigerant (Recovery and Recharge) procedure to be performed. If not already automatically added to the Service Visit, add correction code 18200102 as a separate activity to the Service Visit.

Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the vehicle. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the front HVAC filter housing (torque 1.5 Nm), and then remove the HVAC filter housing.
  4. Disconnect 12V Power. See Disconnect 12V Power.
  5. Remove the 12V battery bracket. Bracket - 12V Battery (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the 12V battery bracket beam. See 12V Battery Bracket Beam (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the RH shock tower brace. See Shock Tower Brace - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the 12V battery bracket beam. See 12V Battery Bracket Beam (Remove and Replace).
  9. Release the coolant reservoir and move it out of the way for access. See Reservoir Assembly - Coolant (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace).
  10. Set the A/C compressor aside for access. See Compressor (Remove and Replace).

    Warning
    Do not disconnect the High Voltage connector from the compressor.
  11. If the vehicle is equipped with air suspension, release the bolts (x2) that secure the air reservoir (torque 2.5 Nm). Carefully set the reservoir in the RH side of the underhood area.

    It is not necessary to disconnect the air lines.
  12. Release the bolts (x2) that attach the high and low pressure pipes to the TXV at the bulkhead (torque 6 Nm).

    The TXV and pipes must be removed at the same time.
  13. Disconnect the TXV connector and release the clip that secures it.
  14. Release the clip that attaches the air suspension line to the high pressure pipe.
  15. Release the bolts (x2) that attach the A/C line below RH side of the battery beam (torque 8 Nm).

    Remove and discard the O-rings.
  16. Remove the charge Port A/C line from the vehicle.

    Note
    Rotate the lower part of the A/C lines towards the center of the vehicle and carefully pull the A/C lines out between the cross member and the bulkhead. Pay attention not to damage any wiring or coolant hoses.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

Lubricate new O-rings with clean refrigerant oil.
