  Paddle Gear - Handle - Exterior Release - Door - Rear - LH - Generation 3.0 (Remove & Replace)
Correction Code 11457442
Removal
- Remove the rear door exterior release handle motor. See Handle Motor - Exterior Release - Door - Rear - LH - Generation 3.0 (Remove and Replace).
- 
          Disconnect the LED harness
                        connector.
          
- 
          Remove the screws (x2) that
                        attach the position sensor to the door handle assembly (torque 0.6
                        Nm).
          
- 
          Remove the circlip that
                        attaches the push rod to the door handle assembly.
          
- 
          Use needle nose pliers to
                        release the push rod springs (x2) by moving the inner ends of the torsion
                        springs out of their retaining channel.
          
- 
          Remove and discard the fork
                        set screws (torque 1.1 Nm).
          
- 
          Slide out the push rod until
                        the magnet clip contacts the door handle assembly, and then gently pry each
                        magnet clip locking tab to remove the magnet clips from the push rod.
          
- Slide the push rod out of the door handle assembly.
- 
          Remove the paddle gear from
                        the door handle assembly.
          
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
Warning
Always replace
                    plugs or tape removed from the front door shells when servicing or inspecting
                    the door or its components. Additional holes in the door creates more escape
                    paths for air, which decreases the front door pressure sensor's ability detect a
                    side impact, and can negatively affect airbag deployment.
