Filter - Particulate (Remove and Replace)

Choose the appropriate procedure based on the vehicle's date of manufacture:

1st Generation

Removal

Correction Code 18100102

  1. Remove the rear center underhood apron (refer to procedure).
  2. Release the retainers (x2) that secure the particulate filter cover.

  3. Remove the particulate filter cover.
  4. Remove the particulate filter.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

CAUTION
Care must be taken to ensure that the particulate filter is not kinked or twisted during installation.

2nd Generation

Removal

Correction Code 18100202

  1. Remove the glove box (refer to procedure).
  2. Release the clip on the RH side of the cover to release the cover from the filter.
  3. Use a 90-degree pick or similar tool to remove the particular filter from the HVAC unit.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
