Camera - Rear View (Remove and Replace)

Removal

Whenever a camera has been moved out of its original position (for example, a camera or windshield replacement), camera calibration data must be cleared using the vehicle touchscreen: Controls > Service > Camera Calibration > Clear Calibration.
  1. Remove the tailgate lower finisher (refer to procedure).
  2. Disconnect the rear camera electrical connector.
  3. Remove the liftgate applique (refer to procedure).
  4. Remove the screws (x3) that secure the rear applique carrier to the tailgate (torque 2.4 Nm).
  5. Remove the rear applique carrier.
  6. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the camera to the rear applique carrier (torque 2.4 Nm).
  7. Release the grommet from the tailgate opening.
  8. Remove the camera assembly from the vehicle.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  • Verify the rear-view camera operation.
    1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
    2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
    3. Go to Dashboards > Service Tools > DAS Clear Calibration > Clear Calibration Backup.
    4. Go to Dashboards > Service Tools > View DAS images > Image Capture.
    5. Verify that the newly installed camera is able to capture the image by looking at the view for the rear-view camera.
    6. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
