Fan - Condenser - LH (Remove and Replace)

- 2023-07-17: Updated with standardized steps to remove the condenser brackets.
Removal
- Recover the refrigerant from the vehicle. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the front wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2), and then
remove the front bumper support bar (torque 11 Nm).

Remove the nut that attaches the
air conditioning pipe to the condenser (torque 8 Nm).

Disconnect the pipe and tie it
aside.
CAUTIONPlug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
- Disconnect the fan motor electrical connector.

Remove the screws (x4) that
attach the condenser brackets (torque 3 Nm).
- Rear Wheel Drive - 4 bolts on the bottom of the fan.
- Dual Motor - 4 bolts on top of the fan.
- Release condenser from the mounting and collect the brackets.

Release from upper mounting and
remove condenser assembly from vehicle.
CAUTIONExercise care when removing condenser to avoid damage.

Remove the bolts (x4) that attach
the fan assembly to the condenser (torque 6 Nm).
- Carefully separate the fan housing from the condenser, and then remove it from the vehicle.
- Remove any debris collected in the condenser and fan housing.
Installation
Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
CAUTION
Lubricate new O-rings with clean
refrigerant oil.
Note
Clean the affected areas before
installation.
- Recharge the refrigerant. See A/C Refrigerant Recovery and Recharge (Remove and Replace).
- Perform the Thermal System test. See Cooling System - Thermal Test.
