Controller - Front Passenger Seat (With OCS) (Remove and Replace)

Open both front doors
-
Lower both front windows
NoteUsing master switch on driver's door

Move RH front seat backward and seat cushion fully upward
-
Open hood
NoteUsing MCU touchscreen > Controls > Frunk Trunk

Remove rear underhood apron
Note8x clips
-
Remove RH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Remove LH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Release drainage hoses from HEPA filter inlet duct
Note2x hoses
-
Remove clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel
Note3x push clips
-
Remove HEPA filter inlet duct
Note2x clips on HEPA filter
-
Remove HEPA filter outlet duct from vehicle
NoteLift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise
-
Power down vehicle using MCU
NoteControls > E-brake & Power Off > Power off

Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
Note1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components

Disconnect controller connectors underneath RH front seat
Note5x connectors, 1x harness clip

Remove RH front seat controller
Note3x clips
-
Install RH front seat controller
Note3x clips, Install the rear seat controller clip first and then install the front two clips

Install connectors to RH front seat controller
Note5x connectors, 1x harness clip

Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
Note1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector

Install HEPA filter outlet duct
-
Install HEPA filter inlet duct
Note2x tabs, One on each side
-
Install clips securing HEPA filter inlet duct to cowl panel
Note3x push clips
-
Secure drainage hoses to HEPA filter inlet duct
Note2x hoses
-
Install LH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Install RH underhood apron
Note9x clips
-
Close hood
NotePress firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

Move RH front seat to original position
-
Close RH front door
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3.0 to the vehicle.
- Redeploy vehicle firmware. See Firmware Reinstall - Toolbox.

Place vehicle in service mode with touchscreen
NoteHold Tesla "T" icon at top of center display for four seconds and then type "service" into dialog box

Precondition vehicle to 68F
NoteMust be preconditioned for 10 minutes before calibration is performed

Set RH seat heater to level 1
NoteRH front passenger seat must have seat heater turned on to level 1 before any calibration is performed

Apply foot to brake pedal and hold right
turn signal indicator for 10 plus seconds
NoteThis step is required even when using a tethered Ethernet connection. Routine can be run after the 10 seconds expires, Key fob must be present in vehicle
- In Toolbox, select "Actions/Autodiag" tab and search for "seat calibrate"

Select PROC_VCSEATP_FRONT-PASS_OCS-CALIBRATEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Low Voltage ➜ Seats ➜ Calibrate OCS, click "RUN", and allow routine to complete
NoteMake sure "Actions" is selected if not already, Ensure nothing is sitting on the passenger seat, Select "X" at top right of window to close once complete

Select PROC_VCSEATP_SEAT-CALIBRATEvia Toolbox: (link), click "RUN", and allow routine to complete

Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and install cubby under the MCU

Exit Service Mode

Raise both front windows
