Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install)

Choose the appropriate procedure based on the vehicle's configuration and date of manufacture:

1st Generation

Removal

Correction Code 10011001

  1. Remove the front underhood apron (refer to procedure).
  2. Dual Motor vehicles: Remove the underhood storage unit (front trunk) (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove the plastic rivets (x8) that secure the undershield to the lower valance.
  4. Remove the screw that attaches the fascia panel to the LH front fender (torque 1.5 Nm).
  5. Remove the screw that attaches the fascia panel to the RH front fender (torque 1.5 Nm).
  6. Disconnect the fascia harness connector and release the clips (x3) that secure the fascia harness to the front fascia carrier.
  7. Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the fascia and applique to the fascia carrier (torque 4 Nm).
  8. Carefully release the fascia from the LH and RH fender bracket lugs (x2).
  9. With assistance, release the fascia panel from the fascia carrier.
  10. Remove the fascia assembly.
  11. Remove any debris from the radiator and condensers.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  • If equipped, perform a radar sensor calibration only if the front radar sensor likely moved outside of its calibration tolerance (contact while removing the fascia, etc.). See Calibration - Front Radar Sensor.

    If radar sensor calibration is required, add the correction code separately.
  • Calibrate the Louver Shutters:
    1. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
    2. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway Unlock.
    3. In Toolbox 3, click the Actions tab, type "Louver-Calibration" into the search field, click Louver CalibrationPROC_THC_X_LOUVER-CALIBRATIONModelS/tasks/PROC_THC_X_LOUVER-CALIBRATIONThermal, click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
    4. Disconnect Toolbox and remove the laptop from the vehicle.

2nd Generation

Removal

Correction Code 10010901

  1. Prepare a padded surface to place the fascia when it is removed.
  2. Remove the underhood storage unit (front trunk) (refer to procedure).
  3. On the RH side rail, disconnect the front fascia harness connectors (x2).
  4. Release the edge clip (x1) that attaches the fascia harness to the RH active shutter.
  5. On each side of the vehicle, remove the fasteners (x2) that attach the fascia bracket to the front end carrier (torque 4 Nm).
  6. Remove the screw that attaches the fascia panel to the LH front fender (torque 1.5 Nm).
  7. Remove the screw that attaches the fascia panel to the RH front fender (torque 1.5 Nm).
  8. Remove the screws (x2) (torque 4 Nm) and clips (x6) that attach the front aero shield to the fascia.
  9. With an assistant, release the fascia from the fender brackets and pull the fascia forward to remove it from the vehicle. Set the fascia onto the padded surface.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:
  • Perform a radar sensor calibration only if the front radar sensor likely moved outside of its calibration tolerance (contact while removing the fascia, etc.). See Calibration - Front Radar Sensor.
