HID Bulb – Headlight - LH (Remove and Replace)

  • 2024-04-03: Added steps to remove and install bulb lock collar.
  • 2023-09-06: Removed unnecessary step.

Removal

  1. If the vehicle has air suspension, set ride height to Jack mode: Controls > Suspension > Jack
  2. Remove the LH underhood apron (refer to procedure).
  3. Disconnect the LH headlight connector.
  4. Remove the LH front wheel (refer to procedure).
  5. Remove the LH front louver assembly (refer to procedure).
  6. Remove the headlight cover.
  7. Release the HID bulb lock collar by rotating counterclockwise.
  8. Remove the HID bulb from the headlight housing.
  9. Carefully separate the connector from the base of the HID bulb.
  10. Carefully slide the HID bulb lock collar off of the HID bulb base.

    Do not damage or break the HID bulb lock collar.

Installation

  1. Carefully slide the HID bulb lock collar onto the new HID bulb base.

  2. Connect the connector to the base of the new HID bulb.
  3. Position the new HID bulb into the headlight housing with the connector pointing down.

    Note
    Make sure that there are no wires in between the bulb and the socket.
  4. Rotate the HID bulb lock collar clockwise to secure it in the housing.
  5. Install the headlight cover.
  6. Reinstall the LH front louver assembly (refer to procedure).
  7. Reinstall the LH front wheel (refer to procedure).
  8. Reconnect the LH headlight connector.
  9. Reinstall the LH underhood apron (refer to procedure).
