Ground Strap - Front Drive Unit (Remove & Replace)

Removal

If the 12V power supply is disconnected, do not attempt to open any doors with door glass in closed position. Failure to follow this instruction could result in door glass shatter.

Note
Before disconnecting the 12V power supply, ensure that the driver’s door window is fully open. Failure to follow this instruction could result in vehicle lockout.
  1. Remove the 12V battery bracket. See Bracket - 12V Battery (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the bolt that attaches the ground strap to the front drive unit assembly.
  3. Remove the nut that attaches the ground strap to the body stud, and then remove the ground strap from the vehicle.

Installation

  1. Install the nut that attaches the ground strap to the body stud (torque 9 Nm).
  2. Install the bolt that attaches the ground strap to the front drive unit assembly (torque 6 Nm).
  3. Install the 12V battery bracket. See Bracket - 12V Battery (Dual Motor) (Remove and Replace).
