The headlight aim must be -1% (-0.57 degrees) or less. Use the Headlight Tester, Beissbarth, Model 815 (1133367-00-A) or a wall or aim board following these guidelines:

  • Upper spec: -0.60 deg (-100 mm @ 10 m)
  • Lower spec: -0.85 deg (-150 mm @ 10 m)
  1. Position the vehicle for adjusting the fog lights:
    • In a darkened area.
    • On a level surface.
    • Perpendicular to a headlight aim board or a wall that has a matte white surface. The wall must be at least 3.7 m (12 ft) wide and 1.87 m (6 ft) high.
    • 10 m (32.8 ft) away from the wall.
  2. Ensure that all 4 tires are inflated to their recommended settings. Refer to Tire Pressures.

    Note
The remainder of this procedure must be performed with someone in the driver seat who weighs at least 75 kg (166 lbs).
  4. Record the height between the ground and the center of the projector lenses on the LH and RH fog lights.
  5. Measure a straight line between each of the projector lenses and the wall. At the point where each line meets the wall, mark two horizontal lines 100 mm (upper aim limit) and 150 mm (lower aim limit) lower than what was recorded in the previous step. For example, if the height of the projector lenses is 283 mm, mark the horizontal lines 183 mm and 133 mm from the ground respectively.

  8. Insert an 8 mm socket wrench or Philips socket bit (as necessary) in the hole in the lower valance below the LH fog light.
  9. Adjust the fog light vertically so that the top beam cut off is aligned between the horizontal lines marked on the wall. For best performance the cutoff should be aligned close to the upper aim limit.
