  1. Open both doors on LH side
  2. Open hood

  3. Remove rear underhood apron

  6. Release drainage hoses from HEPA filter inlet duct

    Lift up, pull towards front of vehicle, then rotate clockwise
  10. Move LH front seat backward

    2x patch bolts, T47P, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal
  12. Move LH front seat forward
  13. Remove LH front seat rear fasteners

  14. Adjust position of LH front seat for easy removal

    Move seat to middle of track at most upright position with seat fully up off floor
  15. Power down vehicle using MCU

    Controls > E-brake & Power Off > Power off
  16. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop

    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components
  17. Disconnect LH front seat harness

  19. Use a pick to disengage the outboard headrest retaining spring

    1x retaining spring, Depress the material around the headrest post to expose the release clip

  21. Remove the headrest from seat

  22. Release toe kick straps from both sides of interior seat base

  23. Remove the seat back shell base assembly from seat back frame

    6x clips, Start at the top of the seat and pull the shell away from the frame, When the side clips are free, pull the bottom and carefully roll the bottom tabs out of the slots, If pulled straight out, the clips on the seat back can break off
  24. Remove the lower flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame

    Pull the trim straight up, off of the retaining tabs to release
  25. Remove the upper flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame

    Pull the lower section of trim away from the retaining tab to release, then pull the trim straight up off of the upper retaining tab
  26. Remove the lower flap covering the inboard corner of the seat back frame

  27. Remove the upper flap covering the inboard corner of the seat back frame

    Pull the lower section of trim away from the retaining tab to release, then pull the trim straight up off of the upper retaining tab
  28. Remove clips securing the seat upholstery to the seat back frame

    7x clips, To release, rotate the clips off of the frame from the inside out, Seventh clip is located tucked beneath top center upholstery clip
  29. Pull the seat upholstery away from the air bag to gain access to the air bag electrical connector
  30. Disconnect LH front seat air bag

    1x connector, Pull black collar down to release connector
  31. Remove the bolt that attaches the bottom of the lumbar support to the seat assembly.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    The bolt is located below the lumbar ECU. Removing this bolt allows ease of access for the following step.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  32. Remove nuts securing 1st row side air bag to seat back frame

    2x nyloc nuts, 10mm, 5.4 Nm, Discard after removal
  33. Pull the air bag and fasteners away from the seat frame

    CAUTION
    Do not remove the airbag from the airbag chute.
  34. Place the front seat in a position to gain access to the bottom of the seat

  35. Remove zip tie securing harnesses to spring mat
  36. Disconnect the seat heater connector

    1x connector, 1x clip, Remove connector from spring mat clip
  37. Remove the seat back harness connector from the seat bottom

    1x connector, 1x fir tree clip
  38. Return seat to upright position
  39. Remove the seat back trim and foam assembly from the seat back frame.

    Note
    Start by pulling the bottom of the seat trim away from the seat frame, Ensure the heater harness and the trim is clear of the frame, Lift straight up on the sides of the trim, moving the trim from side to side to free it from the frame
  40. Slide the airbag chute with the airbag still inside through the seatback foam, and then carefully remove the airbag from the airbag chute.

    CAUTION
    Make sure that the driver side airbag mounting studs do not catch in the holes of the airbag chute.

    CAUTION
    Handle the airbag with extreme care when removing it from the airbag chute. The airbag is configured/folded in a specific manner and will need to be replaced if it is dropped, altered or manipulated in any way.
  41. Remove upholstery from seat back cushion

    Upholstery held on to cushion by velcro, Gently pull upholstery inch by inch from seat back starting lower seat back working your way up to upper seat back, Velcro can tear off cushion
  42. Install upholstery to the seat back rest cushion

    Start at the upper seat back working your down to lower seat back, Massage Velcro in as you go
  43. Install the driver side airbag into the airbag chute, and then slide the airbag chute with the airbag inside through the slot in the seat back foam.

    CAUTION
    Make sure that the driver side airbag mounting studs extend out of the holes of the chute.

    CAUTION
    Handle the airbag with extreme care when installing it into the airbag chute. The airbag is configured/folded in a specific manner and will need to be replaced if it is dropped, altered or manipulated in any way.

    Refer to the following video for proper care when installing the driver side airbag into the airbag chute, and when installing the chute through the seat foam.
  44. Install seat back cushion to seat back frame

    Start by sliding the foam trim straight onto the seat back frame, Ensure the posts for the headrests engage the seat back foam, Ensure the heater harness and lower trim that engages the frame are pushed through to the back side of the frame, Ensure that both sides of the seat back cushion overlap the seat back frame
  45. Install the air bag studs into the seatback frame

    The studs should line up with the two round holes, the elongated hole is not used for this part
  46. Install nuts securing 1st row side air bag to seat back frame

    Note
    2x nyloc nuts, 10mm, 5.4 Nm, Install new nuts

    CAUTION
    Do not use impact tools to tighten the nuts
  47. Install the bolt that attaches the bottom of the lumbar support to the seat assembly.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

  48. Connect LH front seat air bag

  49. Install seat back upholstery clips retaining trim to the frame

  50. Rotate the seat to gain access to the underside of the seat

  51. Install the seat back harness connector to the seat bottom

  52. Connect the seat heater harness and secure to spring mat clip

  53. Rotate the seat back to the upright position
  54. Install the upper flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame

    Pull the flap over the metal tangs to secure
  55. Install the lower flap covering the outboard corner of the seat back frame

  56. Install the upper flap covering the inboard corner of the seat back frame

  58. Install the seat back shell base assembly to seat back frame

    6x clips, Install the lower clips first and rotate the shell up into place, Light pressure may need to be applied to the shell to ensure it's fully seated, The headrest posts will engage the seat back when installed
  59. Route LH sensor harnesses underneath toe kick strap_x000A_
  60. Zip-tie both LH seat back heater and sensor harnesses onto spring mat_x000A_

  61. Secure the toe kick straps from both sides of the interior seat base

  62. Install the headrest into seat

    2x locking clips, Ensure the headrest is fully seated, An audible click will be heard when installing the headrest, Ensure the headrest is seated by tugging up on the headrest
  63. Install LH front seat into vehicle

    Recommend Assistance, Take care not to damage surrounding components while lifting the seat into the vehicle
  64. Connect LH front seat harness

  65. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V negative terminal
