Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install)

Correction Code 15240701 Correction Code 15242001 Correction Code 15242301

Choose the appropriate procedure based on the vehicle's configuration and date of manufacture:

RWD vehicles built through April 10, 2016, refer to 1st Generation RWD
Dual Motor vehicles built through April 10, 2016, refer to 1st Generation Dual Motor
All vehicles built after April 10, 2016, refer to 2nd Generation

1st Generation RWD

Correction Code 15240701

Remove the underhood storage extension box (refer to procedure).
Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons (refer to procedure).
Remove the rear underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Remove the front underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Disconnect the fir tree clips (x2) that fasten the hood release cable to the lower left edge of the storage unit.
Remove the bolts (x4) that secure the sides and rear of the storage unit (torque 8 Nm).
Remove the bolts (x2) that secure the storage unit to the front bumper carrier (torque 6 Nm).
Remove the storage unit from the vehicle.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

Correction Code 15242001

Remove the rear underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Remove the front underhood apron (refer to procedure).
Peel back the carpeting at the rear of the underhood storage unit. Release the bolts (x2) (torque 8 Nm).
Peel back the carpeting at the front of the underhood storage unit. Release the bolts (x2) (torque 4 Nm).
Disconnect the emergency hood release and front light harnesess, then push them out through the grommet.
Remove the underhood storage unit from the vehicle.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.

Correction Code 15242301

Remove the HEPA filter outlet duct (refer to procedure).
Remove the underhood storage carpet. See Carpet - Underhood Storage (Remove and Install).
Remove the clips (x2) and fasteners (x2) that secure the underhood storage unit (torque 7 Nm). Remove the underhood storage unit and HEPA filter as an assembly.

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
