1. Unlock the vehicle gateway for diagnostic communication, if not already unlocked. See Gateway Unlock.
2. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
3. Select the Actions tab and search for "Thermal Test".
4. Select the ODIN routine PROC_THC_X_THERMAL-TESTSearch for routine in ToolboxThermalThermal / Actions - Thermal Test, and then click the link of the routine.
   Note

   Before running the Thermal Test routine, make sure that "precondition" is checked. This will heat up or cool down the coolant as required to allow the thermal test to start. Depending on the actual temperature of the coolant, this may take several minutes.
5. Click RUN, and allow the routine to complete.
6. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
   Note

   Skip this step if the original procedure requires an active connection between the laptop and the vehicle.
