Armrest - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Note
Part name on EPC for Armrest is ASY PAD LH RR DOOR TRIM. As such, 'rear door trim pad' is used in this procedure to refer to the Armrest.
  1. Remove the LH rear door panel assembly (refer to procedure).
  2. Move the upper part of the acoustic insulator panel away for access.
  3. Remove the screws (x10) that attach the rear door trim pad to the rear door panel assembly (torque 2.8 Nm).
  4. Disconnect the indirect lighting connector (if equipped).
  5. Release the clips (x3) that attach the rear door trim pad to the rear door panel assembly, and then remove the rear door trim pad from the rear door panel assembly.
  6. Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the decor trim with inner pull cap to the rear door trim pad, and then remove the decor trim with inner pull cap from the rear door trim pad.
  7. Remove the indirect lighting bar, if equipped.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  • Replace plastic heart flex clips after each use.
  • Reuse metal clips unless they are damaged.
  • Transfer the nylon washers (x4) from the old rear door trim pad to the new part.

If the old door trim panel was equipped with indirect lighting, perform the following procedure on the new door trim pad:

  1. Cut along the bottom of the leather wrap on the rear door trim pad.
  2. Insert the indirect lighting harness through the opening.
  3. Insert the indirect lighting bar so that the clips are fully secure.
